Nook

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 June 2026

Nook is built around one promise: your notes never leave your phone.

What we collect

Nothing. Nook does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on any server. The app has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no network access for your content. There is no account and no sign-in.

Where your data lives

All of your notes and folders are stored locally on your device, protected by iOS file protection. They are never uploaded to a cloud or to us.

Backups

Nook can export an encrypted backup file at your request. That file is created on your device and shared only to the destination you choose (for example Files or AirDrop). It is encrypted with a passphrase that you choose; we never receive it and cannot read your backup.

Purchases

The only network connection Nook makes is to Apple's App Store, through Apple's StoreKit, solely to process your one-time purchase and to restore it. Apple handles this transaction; we do not receive your payment details. Apple's handling of purchase data is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.

Face ID, Touch ID and passcode

If you enable the app lock, authentication is performed entirely on your device by Apple's LocalAuthentication. We never receive your biometrics or passcode. A custom passcode, if you set one, is stored only as a salted hash in the device Keychain.

Children

Nook does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
