How does the free trial work?

Nook is free for 7 days with everything unlocked. After the trial, your existing notes stay fully readable. To keep creating and editing, unlock the app once for $2.99. There is no subscription and no account.

How do I unlock, or restore my purchase?

Open Settings in the app. Tap Unlock Forever to buy, or Restore Purchase if you already bought it (for example on a new phone with the same Apple ID).

Do my notes sync between devices?

No, and that is on purpose. Nook has no cloud and no account, so your notes never leave the device. To move notes to a new phone, use an encrypted backup (below).

How do I back up or move to a new phone?

Go to Settings → Backup & Export, choose a passphrase, and create an encrypted backup file. Save it wherever you like (Files, AirDrop). On the new device, open the same screen, pick the file and enter the passphrase. Keep your passphrase safe — without it the backup cannot be opened, by anyone.

I forgot my app passcode

On the lock screen, tap Forgot passcode? to unlock with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode, then set a new one in Settings.

How do I lock a folder?

Long-press a folder, choose Rename & Style, then Lock this folder and set a passcode. Everything inside it, including subfolders, is then protected.

What is Privacy Typing?

While editing a note, tap the eye icon to turn on Privacy Typing. Every word you finish is blacked out on screen, so no one can read over your shoulder. The word you are currently typing stays faintly visible, just for you. Press the reveal (open eye) button to show the full note. Nook remembers the setting per note, and you can turn it off for any note. In Settings you can change the bar color and how hidden the current word stays.

How do I format text?

While editing a note, the bar above the keyboard lets you pick Title, Heading or Body, and toggle bold, italic, underline and strikethrough. The paint icon at the top sets the note's background and text color.

Is my data really private?

Yes. Nook has no internet access for your content at all. There is nothing to leak, sell, or track. See our Privacy Policy.
